Security Is a Discipline
Cygito was built on the belief that cybersecurity is not a compliance function or a project phase. It is an engineering discipline that shapes how complex systems are designed, integrated, and deployed.
Built on Discipline. Focused on Execution.
Cygito was co-founded by Dr. Aaron Hansen to bring disciplined cybersecurity engineering into complex mission systems. Drawing on experience across defense, intelligence, and regulated environments, the firm was established to correct a recurring problem: security layered onto systems instead of engineered into them.
The name Cygito is rooted in the Latin cogito, meaning “I think.” It reflects our conviction that cybersecurity is a discipline of deliberate thought, rigorous analysis, and structured execution.
Cygito exists to engineer security where it belongs: inside the system, aligned to mission execution, and stable under real-world development and deployment timelines.
Our Principles
These principles define how we build security into systems that matter.
Mission First
Security must support operational execution. Every architecture decision and implementation choice aligns to mission stability.
No Shortcuts
Security engineering cannot be compressed to satisfy schedule pressure. Cut corners become structural weaknesses.
Straight Talk
We provide clear technical judgment and executable recommendations. Our work is built to be implemented.
Engineered In
Security is a system property, not a project phase. When built into architecture, it strengthens execution. When layered on top, it creates risk.
Operational Depth. Engineering Authority.
Our experience was built inside operational environments where system failure has consequences. That reality shapes how we design, integrate, and execute security.
Engineering Experience Across Mission Environments
Two decades of hands-on cybersecurity engineering across military, defense, and federal systems at multiple classification levels.
Defense and National Security Systems
Direct engineering support to weapon systems, autonomous platforms, and critical infrastructure operating in contested and classified environments.
Emerging and High-Risk Technologies
5G and future network architectures, uncrewed systems, spectrum-dependent platforms, and modern DevSecOps pipelines.
Build It Into the System
Security decisions made late become operational risks. If your program is approaching deployment or authorization, now is the time to integrate engineering discipline.
